FAQ

Common questions

What are the benefits of martial arts training?+

Improved confidence, focus, fitness, coordination, discipline, and real-world self-defense skills — for kids, teens, and adults alike.

At what age can my child begin training?+

Tigers start at age 4. We occasionally accept truly-ready 3-year-olds. There is no upper age limit — many of our adult students started in their 50s and 60s.

How do I choose the right martial art style?+

Our Multi-Style program blends the best of several traditional arts so you don't have to choose. Master Gee's incorporates a variety of Martial Art Styles, though heavily focused on Taekwondo

What should we expect during the first class?+

A warm welcome, a quick tour, a structured warm-up, age-appropriate drills and learning your first skills. Wear comfortable clothes.

Is it safe for children and teens?+

Yes — safety is our #1 priority. We've maintained an excellent safety record for 45+ years. No contact is allowed until students control their technique and can block and roll safely.

Will my child develop discipline and respect through martial arts?+

Absolutely. Bowing, listening, and respectful behavior are built into every class, alongside group discussions on good character.

Can martial arts help with confidence and self-defense skills?+

Yes — both are core outcomes of our program. Students learn assertive, non-confrontational responses first, with physical self-defense layered on top.

Is prior experience necessary to start training?+

No. Every program runs beginner-friendly classes. Most of our students start with zero martial arts background.

What are the goals of martial arts training beyond physical fitness?+

Mental focus, emotional regulation, perseverance, respect, leadership, and lifelong friendships in a supportive community.
